    Natalie's passion for encouraging life balance and wellbeing throughout the rehabilitation journey led her to establish In-Balance Physiotherapy and Pilates. She believes whole body health is more than just a sum of its parts and uses a biopsychosocial approach to empower her clients. Natalie has a wealth of experience in the assessment and treatment of complex lumbo-sacral, pelvic and cervico-thoracic presentations, scoliosis and dry needling. She is currently training with Canadian Physio LJ Lee using Connect Therapy. Natalie has been implementing Pilates and core control training in the treatment of spinal pain, sports injuries and dance since 2002. She has also undertaken further study into post natal corrective exercise and education which she applies in her mums and bubs Pilates classes. Natalie has a Diploma in Professional Pilates, is a mentor with Polestar Pilates International and has completed a Dance Medicine Australia (DMA) Clinical Pilates course. Natalie enjoys travel, bushwalking and sharing good wine, food and laughs with friends.

    Scott Beeston's rehab pilates and physio treatments at InBalance Physio and Pilates

    Physiotherapist

    Through his extensive experience at the LGH Scott has further developed a broad knowledge of musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory and neurological rehabilitation. He has an interest in the management of dizziness conditions, stroke rehabilitation, multiple sclerosis and falls prevention. More recently Scott has undertaken further study into comprehensive concussion management from acute injury to return to sport.  As a keen basketballer, Scott understands the importance of prevention and management of injuries in his role of team Physio for the Launceston Tornadoes. Scott is accredited in rehabilitation pilates with Polestar International and is keen to share his knowledge of its application with others. Scott and his wife Katie are the the proud parents of two beautiful boys.

    Michelle Walkden combines Physiotherapy and spinal knowledge at InBalance Physio and Pilates Launceston Tasmania

    Michelle's expertise is in management of pathology of the spine. She has previously worked in an enhanced role capacity with spinal surgeons and attended national and international conferences on the latest research in spinal surgery, pain and rehabilitation. Michelle’s role at In-Balance is to use her acquired skills in reading MRI and performing special neurological tests to help accurately assess and treat spinal conditions. Michelle has completed training in Pilates with Polestar and enthusiastically instructs our hydrotherapy classes at the aquatic centre. Outside of work, Michelle's love of movement sees her teaching salsa and enjoying bush walking and biking with her two boys.

    Running performance and physio by Lisa Barnett at InBalance Physio and Pilates Launceston

    Lisa Barnett

    Lisa has a wealth of experience in a range of health settings, specialising in overuse training injuries, rehabilitation, yoga, sports injuries and pilates. She believes management of injury first requires better body awareness and nutrition. As a result, Lisa is an accredited Level 1 yoga teacher and has completed a rehabilitation pilates course with Polestar International. In her spare time Lisa is a formidable competitive runner and plays touch football. This led her to complete the Runity Painless Running Certification program to assist her interest in diagnosing and treating injuries sustained through running. Lisa performs comprehensive running assessments and coaching. She has also combined her passions of running and Pilates in developing Pilates classes aimed at improving running performance and preventing injuries.

    Michaela Muldoon connect Physiotherapist In-Balance

    Michaela returns to In-Balance after living in NSW and starting a family with husband Dave and baby Maeve. Michaela has a special interest in treating pelvic and thoracic/rib problems. She has completed 12 months of study in the Connect therapy model developed by LJ Lee, a world renowned specialist Physiotherapist from Canada. This model of treatment involves looking at the connections and links within the body to determine the underlying cause or "driver" of pain, injury or dysfunction anywhere in the body. This knowledge allows her to assess and treat any region of the body that is creating pain, weakness or non optimal loading resulting in injury. Michaela enjoys running and yoga when not at work.

    Linda King

    Physiotherapist

    After graduating Linda worked in various roles in hospitals in NSW and England, arriving in Launceston in 1994. After initially working at the LGH Linda has worked in Private Practice in Launceston for over 20 years and has a wide range of experience in treating all musculoskeletal areas. She enjoys assisting her patients to return to normal function: work, sport and everyday life. Her approach combines manual therapy, exercise and education.

    Linda is a Watson Headache® Certified Practitioner. Through attending courses with the Watson Headache® Institute Linda has developed expertise in managing headache and migraine by treating the neck. Working with headache has lead to an interest in treating dizziness and she recently attended an Introduction to Vestibular Rehabilitation Course and study in concussion management. Linda's other areas of experience include treatment of shoulder, neck and back symptoms. Linda also has an interest in Occupational Health and has worked in a range of work places providing onsite treatment and rehabilitation, manual handling and ergonomic assessments and education. Outside of work Linda aims to keep fit and enjoys exploring Tassie’s outdoors with family and friends. At home she enjoys gardening and cooking.

    With a career in the fitness industry spanning almost 20 years, Rachel has recently completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science followed by a Professional Honors in Exercise Physiology at the University of Tasmania. Rachel firmly believes that the key to participating in lifelong physical activity is in finding the type of exercise that you enjoy to do. With qualifications and extensive experience in teaching Pilates, Learn to Swim, Les Mills group fitness programs, personal training and sports coaching, Rachel is looking forward to supporting people in finding the right kind of exercise for them as part of her role as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist at In-Balance. Now that her University studies are complete she is keen to start developing a productive garden, run at least one marathon, return to yoga practice and enjoy some down time knitting and crocheting.

    Trisha Dunn comes from a background in contemporary dance, yoga and Pilates teaching and was a core member for Tasdance for over 13 years. Her classes feed on diverse training over two decades and a love for breath, awareness and dynamic motion. Trisha is passionate about movement and its ability to improve both our physical and psychological well-being by developing strength, stamina, balance, flexibility, confidence, and awareness. As a mother of 4-year-old twins Trisha is acutely aware of the need for time to refocus and quieten the mind and loves facilitating that for her clients. Trish has recently completed Polestar Pilates training in mat and small apparatus and is currently completing her Diploma in Professional Pilates. Trisha looks forward to sharing her knowledge through yoga and Pilates sessions.

    Stephanie Taylor

    Massage Therapist & Pilates Instructor

    With natural therapies threading through most of her life, Stephanie has gained extensive experience in remedial therapies including Bowen Therapy, remedial and deep tissue massage. Most recently she has studied Neuro-structural Integration Technique (NST), an effective bodywork technique that relaxes muscles and fascia in a very gentle manner. Stephanie has completed her Certificate IV in Studio and Matwork Pilates Accreditation with Polestar International. Stephanie enjoys teaching older adults to move well and improve their overall balance and agility. In her spare time Stephanie enjoys taking care of her numerous pets and small vineyard keep.

    Melissa Jones

    Pilates Instructor

    Melissa's first Pilates session was at age 11 at the Australian ballet school to help with knee pain and alignment. Pilates quickly became a part of her warm up routine, preparing her body for dance and rehabilitation of injuries. Melissa has enjoyed an extensive career as a professional dancer and Pilates teacher. Melissa has previously taught Pilates in Melbourne with clients ranging from professional dancers, circus artists, athletes, Australian Ballet School students and the general public. She was also involved in National Pilates Training as a student supervisor and assessor, mentoring future Pilates instructors. An active member of Pilates Alliance Australasia, Melissa regularly attends international movement research workshops. Raised in country Victoria, Melissa has recently moved to Launceston and is excited about discovering the hiking trails and wilderness areas Tasmania has to offer.

    Fletch is a much valued member of our administration team who is currently studying Business Administration. She enjoys working within the healthcare industry and out of hours Fletch volunteers at her children’s school and at an aged care facility. She enjoys netball, water basketball, swimming and the odd Pilates class.

    Sheila believes in massage for reducing stress, muscle tightness and pain. She has been a massage therapist practicing in Launceston independently for many years. Sheila believes that massage is a great way of promoting health and a sense of well-being - plus regular massage can help prevent illness due to accumulative stresses.

    Having received great benefit from massage therapy herself, Julie was encouraged to study a Diploma of Remedial massage, graduating in 2013. She is now an accredited myotherapist and has additional experience in cupping and cranio-sacral massage techniques. Julie follows a holistic approach to life with a regular practice of yoga and meditation. In her downtime Julie has 3 children which keep her busy and enjoys sewing, bushwalking and camping.
